The Faculty of Pharmacy, Merit University, seeks excellence locally, regionally, and internationally to be a center for scientific and research radiation and to achieve leadership in the fields of pharmaceutical education, scientific and technological research, community service, and environmental development.

In line with Egypt’s strategy for sustainable development 2030 and Merit University’s strategy 2022/2026, the faculty’s strategic plan 2022/2026 has been prepared, which is based on the principles of comprehensive quality and continuous development, and clarifies the college’s vision, mission, and strategic goals that it seeks to achieve within specific time periods, and is implemented through An implementation plan that monitors success indicators using clear tools and criteria, and identifies mechanisms for follow-up implementation and evaluation, and qualifies the college to achieve its goals of raising its institutional capabilities to improve its competitive position, upgrade the educational system it offers, develop the scientific research system and achieve excellence and innovation, in order for the faculty to assume a prominent position locally and globally As an educational and research institution that takes into account the causes of progress and development and contributes to the advancement of society.

Faculty Objectives

  • Providing distinguished education and professional development to prepare cadres of pharmacists who hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in PharmD.
  • Qualifying pharmacists to participate in the drug industry and meet the diverse professional needs of the community.
  • Focusing on the role of the pharmacist in providing appropriate health care to the patient inside and outside hospitals by educating and providing advice to individuals and communities to improve treatment results and reduce disease, taking into account that he practices the profession with its responsibilities and powers, respecting its laws and ethics, and respecting the rights of patients.
  • Preparing a pharmacist who uses evidence-based data to provide contemporary pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical services, in addition to being proficient in effective communication, leadership, management and entrepreneurship skills.
  • Developing scientific research in various pharmaceutical disciplines and activating research cooperation with research institutions in the community in the field of pharmacy.
  • Commitment to achieving quality standards in pharmacy education through interactive learning and interest in self-learning.
  • Graduating a pharmacist who works as a lifelong learner with the aim of sustainable professional development and demonstrates the ability to evaluate performance and self-evaluation skills.

Degree Awarded

The Bachelor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree qualifies according to the National Academic Reference Standards «NARS 2017», which meets the needs of the local and regional labor market and also follows the requirements of advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Duration of Study

The duration of study at the Faculty of Pharmacy “Merit University” to obtain a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy is five academic years, in addition to one year of advanced training (excellence).

Language and System of Study

Studying in the Faculty of Pharmacy is in English, and it is allowed to teach some courses in Arabic after the approval of the College and University Councils.
